Three rising music industry stars

Recently, the music industry has undergone a slight shift, heavily brought on by youth culture and a desire for fresh talent in the industry. Here are three of my favourite budding music industry stars-in-the-making.

Clairo is a nineteen year-old "bedroom pop" artist whose successful EP "diary 001" is both relatable and addictive. She recently collaborated with London-based DJ SG Lewis and her single "Drown" (featuring Cuco) is a true summer tune. She recently finished her North America tour with Dua Lipa and has started touring alone, not as a support act.

Kali Uchis already boasts two million monthly listeners on Spotify, which is perfectly justifiable as her 2018 album "Isolation" is an incredible mix of South American groove with smooth jazzy undertones. Her voice is simply wonderful and she has already collaborated with Tyler the Creator and the talented Jorja Smith.

Aged only nineteen, Declan McKenna has already established himself in the music industry, but is still a fresh and young artist. His hit single "Brazil" is - from what I gather - a song expressing disapproval towards the corruption of football in South America; hard-hitting, I know. His debut album ("What Do You Think About The Car?") which was released in 2017, gained positive feedback from both NME and The Guardian, being heralded as a "cracking debut".

thanks for reading ;)
