Having visited both Norway and Iceland around one year ago, I was impressed by the fashion awareness present in both countries and sought answers.

1. Fjallraven Kanken: Backpacks are a must in modern life and they can compose much of an outfit. Fjallraven Kanken is significant to me as it introduced me to a particular backpack design that I have since fallen in love with. Having visited the website, I found out that Kanken backpacks were introduced to "spare the backs of school children." This successfully provides the backpack with a practical element while remaining stylish and elegant.

2. Acne Studios: Scandinavian fashion to me has always mastered minimalism and simplicity while retaining modernity. Acne Studios is a perfect example of colourful yet somewhat contained outfits. I am truly impressed by their ready-to-wear collection which features what look like unisex outfits, a prospect that should be accepted in the fashion industry as inclusivity becomes so important. The laid back and relaxed style with low slung trousers and loose shirts encapsulates modern fashion.

3. Wood Wood: This is a slight step up from Acne Studios in terms of the elegance and refinement. While Acne Studios was still stylish, it hinted at streetwear whereas Wood Wood features more graceful and dignified pieces. Some of the outfits are slightly androgynous, once again blurring the conventional lines between man and woman. This maintains a current and contemporary outlook on fashion, moving forward through fashion and self-expression.
