Instagram has seen the revival of all things fashion this year, as young people with an interest in fashion rise to relevance on social media. One of these rising social media stars is Louis Powell, known as youngmanpowell on Instagram, who already boats just under one thousand followers.
I managed to reach out to him and ask him a few questions over Instagram to learn more about this Instagram craze as well as his personal style and inspirations. His answers are full of sincerity and ambition, with a hope to continue establishing himself on Instagram, a job-giving social media platform.
The INTERVIEW:
The Daily Stripe: When did you start your account and what exactly was your inspiration for doing so? Louis Powell: So, I started my account in late 2016 and I didn't really have an inspiration, to be honest, I just wanted to do me!
TDS: How would you describe your style? LP: I would describe my style as a mix of different types of fashions as I always try new things and see what boundaries I can push.
TDS: What is key for a good fit pic? LP: For me a key to a good fit pic has to be the colours and how they match your surroundings.
TDS: Who or what are your fashion inspirations? LP: One of my fashion inspirations is obviously gullguyleo (one of the most famous Instagram fashion influencers, at only sixteen years old) as some people may recognise, but I feel like my grandad has to be one as well and I know people will laugh to that, but for me it's true. Nowadays the fashion world is so big; there are no limits to who inspires you.
TDS: Your style since your first post has progressed. Share a little about this evolution. LP: Yes, my style has changed a lot since my first post, and some people may prefer some earlier photos, which is cool, but it's like anything: you evolve and change as time goes on. I mean, who knows? In five years time I could be wearing a dress!
TDS: What do you think of this new fashion generation (such as gullguyleo) who are taking Instagram by storm? LP: I mean, yeah, I think it's amazing that Leo can start a career which could change his life from social media, so it is good for him. But, I feel like now it's a lot harder because lots of people are trying to do the same things, but if you want something bad enough, then there is nothing stopping you and that goes with everything.
Thank you once again to Louis for making this interview possible and please go and follow him on Instagram @youngmanpowell.
thanks for reading ;)
